Forest Conservation Activities

Kirishima Kutsurogi Forest
In 2010, we participated in the "Corporate Forest Creation Project" promoted by Miyazaki Prefecture by renting 6 hectares of city-owned forest in Yamadacho, Miyakonojo and began reforestation activities. In 2024, we leased an additional 0.97 hectares.
Our employees helped cut down the overgrown bamboo and weeds and planted broadleaf trees like zelkova and sawtooth oak. After planting, we continue to cut undergrowth to help create a rich forest. We also use the area as a place for nature studies to teach children about the importance of nature.

Donguri Millennium Forest
Since 2004, we have supported the NPO Millennium Forest Creation Committee’s reforestation efforts by purchasing and donating “Donguri (acorn) Stocks” and participating in tree planting event. Every year our company and employees purchase Donguri Stocks, the money donated for replanting and maintaining forests. In March 2024, employees and their families, about 80 people, participated in a tree planting event.
Dounguri Millennium Forest Creation Committee
They have been active in Miyakonojo since 1997. Every year, they recruit Donguri Stocks and use the funds to plant acorn trees in the national forests upstream of the Oyodo River, working to restore the rich natural forests. They planted approximately 180,000 acorn trees over 72 hectares by 2023 fiscal year.

Forest Development in Miyakonojo
In 2024, we signed the “Partnership Agreement on the Use of J-Credit (*) for Miyakonojo Regional Forest Development” with the Miyakonojo Forestry Association and the Norinchukin Bank. By supporting reforestation in the Miyakonojo region through this agreement, we will maximize the functions of the forest and strive to conserve the ecosystem and groundwater, while also contributing to reducing CO₂ emissions by increasing the forest's absorption of CO₂.
- J-Credit is a scheme that the Japanese government certifies the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2, through the introduction of energy-saving equipment and the use of renewable energy as credits. It is also certifies the absorption of CO2 and other gases through responsible forest management.
Waste Management Initiatives
We are actively committed to waste sorting and collection. Furthermore, we are working to reduce waste by turning food waste from restaurants and offices into compost and biogas, and recycling paper cartons and waste paper into solid fuel.
Solar power generation
The headquarters Expanded Factory is equipped with solar panels, capable of generating up to 100kW of electricity per hour. The electricity is used in the factory.
