This is a big no-no when it comes to alcohol!

You must be 20 or older to consume alcohol by Japanese law.
In Japan, underage drinking is prohibited by law (the Minor Drinking Prohibition Act). This law prohibits those under the age of 20 from drinking alcohol and also stipulates penalties for parents, guardians, and businesses that sell or provide alcohol to minors. Individuals under the age of 20 are still developing both physically and mentally. Their ability to metabolize alcohol is low, and their blood alcohol concentration rises easily, so even small amounts of alcohol can lead to a higher risk of acute alcohol poisoning compared to adults.

Have fun, drink in moderation.
The ability to metabolize alcohol varies among individuals due to factors such as gender, physique, and age. One's physical condition at the time of drinking can also influence the rate of intoxication. Drinking alcohol quickly can result in faster intoxication, so try to sip your drinks slowly and enjoy them with meals.

Drunk driving is prohibited by Japanese law.
Alcohol can dull your brain function even in small quantities. It impairs motor skills, cognitive abilities, situational awareness, and concentration, leading to delayed reactions in braking and steering, as well as erratic driving behavior. Never drink and drive.

Pregnant and nursing women should refrain from drinking alcohol.
Drinking alcohol during pregnancy or breastfeeding can pose a risk to the development of the fetus or infant's brain and body through the placenta and breast milk. For the sake of your precious baby's future, please do not consume alcohol during these periods.
