Aka Kirishima
A Refined Aroma with a Lingering Sweetness
A sweet potato honkaku shochu made using purple sweet potato Murasaki Masari as the main ingredient. The anthocyanins abundantly found in Murasaki Masari react with the citric acid produced by the shochu koji, causing the mash to turn bright red, which led to the naming of Aka (Red) Kirishima. It is characterized by a lingering sweetness and a refined aroma.
